Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by body aches, widespread pain, sleep problems, extreme fatigue, depression, anxiety, and other symptoms, in combination with tenderness of specific areas (muscles and tender points) on the body. Fibromyalgia is a type of soft tissue or muscular rheumatism and does not cause inflammation, joint damage or deformities.

Aerobic exercise and strength-training activities have been associated with improvement in pain, tender point counts and disturbed sleep. Sticking to an exercise program may be difficult for Fibromyalgia patients but when combined with other treatments has been successful in reducing some of their suffering.

Certain classes of antidepressant medications are sometimes prescribed for the disorder. Studies show that antidepressants in low doses can decrease depression, relax craniofacial and skeletal muscles, improve sleep quality, and release pain-killing endorphins. Other medications that are used include anti-inflammatory pain medications and medications that work on pain transmission pathways, such as Gabapentin.

To normalize the production of neurotransmitters and thereby improve the local blood circulation in muscles and joint surroundings.

Fibromyalgia, which is much more common in women than men, cannot be diagnosed with standard lab tests. Doctors first need to rule out other conditions that cause pain and/or fatigue such as rheumatoid arthritis or hypothyroidism. A diagnosis is then based on whether someone has pain throughout their body. The doctor will also apply pressure to 11 to 18 hot spots in the body where muscle and tendons meet, such as certain areas on the neck and shoulders, to locate any tender areas.

Amla oil, prepared by boiling dry pieces of amla in coconut oil, is considered a valuable hair tonic for enriching hair growth. A mixture of equal quantity of fresh amla juice and lime juice used as a shampoo stimulates hair growth and prevents hair loss.

Fruits:

Radish, cranberry (karoda) are some of the effective fruits for treating fibromyalgia. Take freshly prepared cranberry or radish juice, this will help fighting with severe muscular pain. Similarly, raw papaya is also very good for treating fibromyalgia. Grind 8-10 papaya seeds and mix it in a glass of water. Bring it to boil and later drain it and take 2-3 times a day. Repeat it for a month. Patient will show great improvement. One of the useful home remedies for fibromyalgia.
